Yasmeen's Mediterranean Cuisine
From South Pas Wiki
Tucked into a small storefront on Fair Oaks, across from the Fair Oaks Pharmacy, Yasmeen's is a deceptive little place. First, it's hard to find unless you're really looking for it. Once safely inside, you'll find it sparsely furnished with plastic chairs and cheap little tables. The stainless steel ordering station looks as though it was originally designed for a cafeteria. In short, until you actually look at Yasmeen's menu, you'll swear you were in some small but very clean Chinese buffet. But then you take in the smells emanating from the kitchen, and you know you are not in Kansas any more! Really tasty schwarma tickles the tongue. Nice (but not garlicky enough) hummus is accompanied by a modest serving of pita bread. There's some great Baba Ghanouj too. This is all served to you on paper plates with plastic wear and paper napkins, on a cafeteria tray. But don't let appearances throw you off, or you'll miss a very pleasant and authentic meal.
According to zabihah.com, Yasmeen's serves Lebanese fare. A certificate on the wall promises that all meat is halaal. Even if Mediterranean food is not usually your cup of laban, with schwarmas going for $3.99 and entrees for only a few dollars more, the price is definitely right.
02/05/07: Yasmeen's is closed as a restaurant. I've heard that they are catering now.
